Xiaomi is working on charging through sound technology, leaked as they filed patent on CNIPA

Xiaomi is a smartphone/electronic company famous for its magnificent devices. Back in January, the company announced Mi Air Charge. This is a charging technology in which we can charge phones without wires, cables, pads, or wireless charging stands. It can charge multiple devices within a radius of several meters. But it remained only a concept and will not be available for now. Xiaomi also recently showcased HyperCharge fast charging technology that comes with 200W wired charging support and 120W wireless charging support.

Now, Xiaomi has filed for a patent that will use sound energy to charge devices. Xiaomi has filed a patent on CNIPA (China National Intellectual Property Administration) which revealed the technology of new sound charging. Let's see that how the new tech works.

Xiaomi Sound Charging Technology

Xiaomi has filed a patent on CNIPA which reveals the working of the sound charging. The working of this sound charging tech was revealed via CNIPA. This tech would be available in upcoming years. The patent reveals that the Xiaomi new tech uses environmental sound energy to charge the devices.

The above image shows the working of sound charging technology. This involves a sound charging device, an energy storage device, and an electronic device. The sound charging device includes a sound collection device, a plurality of energy conversion devices, and a power conversion device. The sound collection device is used to convert sound in the environment into mechanical vibrations and conduct the mechanical vibration to energy conversion device, the energy conversion device is used to convert the mechanical vibrations into alternating current (AC) whereas the power conversion device is used to convert this alternating current to direct current (DC) to charge the device.

The description below reveals the very detailed work of Xiaomi's new sound charging technology.

Afterward, the description says that this technology the sound of the surrounding environment can be used to charge the device without the need for any power socket.

They say, this technology reduces the difficulty of charging and improves the user experience. This is not revealed whether it will be launched or not and we also cannot expect it for now but perhaps after some months or years. It can be only a concept like the Mi Air Charge. If this tech launches in the market it will be a good step towards saving electricity. But it can also have some disadvantages too.

Thanks for reading.
